Spring choice and valving, (built shim stacks) are determined based on these personal parameters. PTX Coilovers are assembled exclusively with custom chosen SWIFT SPRINGS rates and lengths.Recommendations can be provided based on your driving style, type of racing or personal ride quality preference.
The (UL) Ultra-Lite Coilover System is the ultimate in all-around performance and handling. It features the aluminum pillow ball upper mounts and independent ride height and spring pre-load adjust-ability. For the serious Motorsports competitor, the (UL) Coilover System incorporates a larger diameter premium racing damper/shock that features an aluminum housings for an approximate 10% decrease in weight making them the competitor’s choice for those watching un-sprung weight and allows for longer more consistent damping during competition/racings sessions. With all the adjustment and spring options, it is possible to set up the vehicle to meet all situations and scenarios. Though the strut housing of the damper is aluminum to save weight, the POWERTRIX (UL) Ultra-Lite Coilover System features heat tempers forged steel for bottom mounting cups for maximum strength where is it needed the most at the point of where the coilover assembly bolts to the hub of the car.
The (UL) Ultra Lite Coilover Sytems' aluminum shock bodies make an entire assembly approximately 2-3 lbs. lighter. Though this does not sound like a lot, it can make a big difference performance-wise when the dynamics of sprung vs. un-sprung weight is considered. Sprung weight is defined as a parts weight while in motion or constant oscillation. Un-sprung weight is the actual weight of the part as it is at rest or not in motion. Sprung weight is calculated to be approximately 3-4 time its un-sprung weight.
Therefore a coilover assemble that is 2-3 time lighter than another can be as much as 6-12 lbs. lighter while in motion, so calculating that savings on each corner of the car can be as much as 24-48 lbs. of weight savings which makes the car much more agile and more nimble on its "feet".

CONFIGURATION OPTIONS:
ULS = PTX COMPONENTS ULTRA-LITE (STREET) COILOVERS are assembled with choice of more compliant SWIFT SPRINGS and Isolator top mounts to mitigate chassis vibration and road noise. The PTX- ULS is specifically designed to delivery the very best ride quality without the sacrifice of control and handling of high horse power builds. The PTX Components proprietary custom valving / shim stack set up provides the perfect compromise for the best of both worlds. Choose this set up when comfort it priority.
ULR = PTX COMPONENTS ULTRA-LITE (TRACK) COILOVERS though for most, this is still daily drivable however is focused on extracting paramount performance from you Z34/G37 chassis and will get you safely to and from the track. Use of more aggressive Swift Springs / rates dependent on each custom build, supporting upgrades and driving purpose are used in conjunction with pillow ball upper mounts to more affectively transfer suspension energy as needed. The PTX-ULR uses an 8 spring configuration. (1 main and 1 helper spring) per assembly is use to provide more droop / rebound travel to aid with customized ride height setting and corner balancing adjustments. Constructed to deliver balance and faster lap times by inspiring confidence at higher speeds in the corners and from spirited driving to all out racing, this is the set up that Nissan Challenge Time Attack Series Champions choose to constantly and continuously deliver Podium finishes. Default (and recommended) Rear configuration is divorced rear spring. This provides the best balance, ride quality and performance.
However if using an aftermarket adjustable toe link that eliminates the OEM spring bucket arm, a "true" coilovers configuration is available.
